Task

Develop a strategy for a metal trading company in the context of changing market conditions and growing competition to increase sales, profitability and improve the company’s competitive position in the market.

Solution

We coped with the task, thanks to immersion in the project and the use of modern strategic analysis tools, we were able to find the best solution to the business problem at hand.
Closed project (ad-hoc) to develop a strategy for a large metal trading company (top 6 in Ukraine):

  • Optimal procurement and sales tactics based on market cyclicality
  • A new business model and business strategy (competitive, investment and turnaround) offline and online to realize the goals and vision of top management for the company’s development
  • Justified a strategic set of measures to improve competitive positions and business efficiency based on the best industry business practices (benchmarking), incl. electronic sales platform.
The development of a strategy by a SWOT specialist has changed the perception of the approach to business decision making. Effective use of world business consulting tools adapted to the industry allowed me to realize my vision of business development, develop the business in a new direction, achieve the goals of the company owners and gain increased competitiveness, sales and profits. To better understand the business, we performed a strategic analysis of the business and product portfolio, based on an analysis of its indicators and industry (demand, supply, competitors, prices), and product competitiveness. This is what gave the necessary understanding of point “A” (current positions) and became the basis for identifying and selecting tools and measures to achieve point “B” - the goal.
